Singapore KrisFlyer and PPS Club: Status Tiers and Loyalty Benefits
Singapore Airlines runs two parallel loyalty memberships: KrisFlyer (the general programme, with KrisFlyer Elite Silver and Elite Gold status tiers), and the separate PPS Club for very frequent paid premium-cabin flyers, capped by Solitaire PPS for the truly committed.
The status tiers
| Tier | Qualifying activity | Star Alliance equivalent |
|---|---|---|
| KrisFlyer member | Sign-up | None |
| KrisFlyer Elite Silver | 25,000 KrisFlyer Elite miles | Silver |
| KrisFlyer Elite Gold | 50,000 KrisFlyer Elite miles | Gold |
| PPS Club | S$25,000 in premium-cabin spend (1 year) | Gold (with extras) |
| Solitaire PPS | S$50,000 in PPS value (1 year) | Gold (top tier) |
What each tier unlocks
Elite Silver grants priority check-in, priority boarding and a 25% mileage bonus on SQ flights.
Elite Gold opens Star Alliance Gold benefits worldwide (so Lufthansa, Swiss, ANA lounges), SilverKris Business lounge access on SQ flights, fast-track security at Changi, and additional baggage.
PPS Club requires premium-cabin spend rather than miles flown and grants access to The Private Room (the dedicated PPS Club section at Changi), one of the most consistently praised airport experiences in the world.
Solitaire PPS grants additional Private Room access, dedicated airport hosts and the highest tier of customer service.
Lounge access at Changi
Changi T3 has multiple SQ lounges. KrisFlyer Elite Gold gets you into the SilverKris Business Lounge. PPS Club members get The Private Room with full table-service dining. The Private Room is the prize.
Family and household
KrisFlyer offers a Family Plan where up to eight family members can pool miles. PPS Club status is individual and doesn't pool.
The quirky benefit
PPS Club is one of the only major loyalty programmes where status is earned through cash spend on premium cabins, not miles flown. A single LHR-SIN First Class return on cash contributes meaningfully towards a PPS year. The spend-based structure makes PPS impractical to earn through partner flying, which keeps the tier exclusive.
The honest take
Elite Gold is the practical target for UK members who fly SQ regularly. PPS Club is real money in real Business or First cabins and is mostly a Singapore-resident achievement. Most UK collectors use KrisFlyer purely as a redemption currency, with Elite tiers as a bonus when Amex MR transfers happen to push their KrisFlyer balance through Elite threshold sums.
